Doctors say 4-year-old Aiden Waters is making remarkable progress after having brain surgery, where half of his brain had to be removed. Aiden's story was first reported 5-months ago on Eyewitness News. Aiden suffers from Struge-Weber Syndrome, a rare disorder that causes seizures and delays brain developments. In August doctors at UCLA Medical Center performed Hemispherectomy, cutting out half his brain. Before the surgery Aiden couldn't walk, talk or feed himself. But now, Aiden has not had a seizure since the surgery.
"He's showed so much progress in the last five months I think there's a lot more to be made," said Aiden's mother Rachel. "With all the therapy he's getting at school, speech, occupational, physical."
Mrs. Waters now says Aiden's speech is improving; he's walking and even going to school.
